Kamen Rider Zi-O: 37

At times I thought I was watching DBZ. Thanks to Gust as always.  SD and script and other files to be uploaded later in this post.
EDIT: Script has been updated with a few little fixes. SD is out now too. Check the comments for a couple of translation notes.

Ginga’s Planet form finisher uses the term: “水金地火木土天海”. This is the first kanjis in the name of all the planets, which is also “WATER METAL EARTH FIRE TREE SOIL HEAVEN OCEAN” (Sailor Moon fans will see the correlation here). This is a sort of an impossible thing to translate in a good short way, so settled on “MER-VEN-EAR-MAR-JUP-SAT-URA-NEP”.

Next is “ワクワク! ワクセイ!ギンガワクセイ Wakuwaku! Wakusei! Ginga Wakusei!”. Wakuwaku is an onomatopoeia for excitement, but it’s also a pun on the form name Wakusei. We’ve gone with “Pla-Pla-Planet!” until we can think of a better (puny) translation to go with.

Something like “Celestifying!” (Celestial+Electrifying) could capture both space and excitement. “Anticipat-orrery!” is terrifically silly, but does require one to be familiar with what an orrery (Mechanical model Solar System) is…..

To be fair, “Stellar!” and “Astronomical!” both have already possess a dual meaning that somewhat suits (‘Stellar’, with its frequent use in the context of performance rather fits Woz’s theatrics)

水金地火木土天海 is an absolute nightmare, though. I racked my brains for something that maintained the mnemonic nature of it but to no avail (‘Astro-mnemonic-al’? ‘Mem-orrery Technique’? No, let’s not start that again…). “Wooshing/Wu Xing through the Solar System” is probably the worst pun I’ve ever made, and that’s with some serious competition in this very post! 😀

*”both already possess”, that should be….
